So, where do we start? So many people have been helping us during these last 2 months (I’m amazed it’s only 2 months!). Some financially, like our sponsors, some with useful advice, experience & skills, some with wedding gifts aimed for the trip and some with supporting words. It seems that when one (or a couple, not so young) takes a break from life, a long break, everybody is truly happy for them. So, to cut the small-talk… I’d like to thanks the following (in Alphabetical order):
  • Arie & Amir Presenti With Arie Presenti at the warehouse in רשפון Friends directed me to Arie, Owner of סי.טי.סי. חברה לסחר אופניים בע"מ, telling me “he’s a though business man, but your best choice for bike equipment”. So I called him up and presented our plans. A stop at his shop at רח' החשמונאים, ת"א, got a list of the stuff we need and came to his warehouse, at רשפון. With the friendly help of Amir At רשפון, we gathered the gear we needed and Arie gave us an offer we couldn’t refuse! No hassle, no nothing – as smooth as a baby's ass!

  • Shahar Rozen I don’t even remember how we approached Shahar, but it was obvious that The North Face was a wise choice. A short phone call, a semi-detailed Email of our plan – and another offer we couldn’t refuse! Off to the warehouse at פארק אפק, ראש העין, picking up too much smelly-new camping gear, as easy as breaking a baby’s head.

  • Ronen Fraiberg I smile every time I think of the first time we met you. You were truly interested in our trip! "How do you intend to exit Bangkok?" - One of a million questions that regular travelers don't think about. Thanks for not just the No-Flats and your patience, but for doing it with a smile.

  • Roni Aner With Roni Aner at the the shop in כפר נטר Roni's first words were "Sorry, RudyProject are sponsoring a million things". But, after hearing our plans, it seems he became interested, and was running through his gear, searching for stuff that could help us (and fit Gal). Thanks ;-)

  • Rachel Rosenbaum The best secretary one could ever wish for! You ask for something, knowing it will be done on time (much earlier), in the best manner and always she even adds a surprising ‘twist’. We stopped counting the stuff we dropped on her to do; fax this, bring that, call, change, ask, find, buy, search, pay and on and on… I just told her it’ll end in 3 weeks, when we fly, so she corrected me that it’s only going to start!!!

  • Tamar Elhalel, Rachel & Ralph Rosenbaum For the help during those hectic 2 months, but mainly for being our parents.

  • אהוד, מיכאל ואבשלום דהרי !המקום המושלם להתכונן למסע They own a tiny Trek shop & a hole-in-the-wall workshop, at (03-6493260, הדר יוסף 12, תל-אביב). I don't know what to praise first: their hospitality or their technique! Gal & I have been glued mainly to אהוד, nagging him for days, asking, listening & writing down. From the basic stuff to the more esoteric, and to the art of improvising. Very pedant and thorough, as apposed to the looks of the place. But, I guess that’s the charm of the place. The fun part of our preparations was here!

  • Erez Mannor Thanks for sharing u swith your 100,000 km - 7 year bicycle traveling, with all your experience and ideas, for your hospitality and most important - for convincing me to use Clipless pedals.

  • Yossi Mossel Thanks for carrying those 2 huge boxes, holding our Bob-Trailers, all over the Atlantic. Oh, and for (unconsciously) popping up the idea of cycle-touring. I still hope to cycle with you in 2007!

  • Sharon Vitek Take good care of Kitch and Kitnunit, our beautiful (?) cats. We loved your flat, hope to crash in again when we return ;-)

  • Yael Ben-David And another apartment we crashed in to…

  • Dror Parker Gal may be the first Israeli woman to cycle the Silk-Road, but I will not be the first man!!! We enjoyed every minute, listening about your trip

  • Ira Shemesh Our first technical talk about this trip, when you were in the hospital (about time you learned to ride a bike) - and look where we are now!

  • Nora Gottlieb For bringing more spare parts for our lovable Bob-Trailers

  • All our friends and relatives (and total strangers) who heard about our adventure and encouraged us to go for it!
